A fatal accident involving a semi, a pickup truck and a car closed westbound Interstate 865 in Boone County for almost four hours Friday morning. A passenger in the car died at the scene of the 6 a.m. accident. The car’s driver was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. The drivers of the other two vehicles suffered minor injuries.
