Two technology companies plans to expand their Indianapolis operations, adding a total of almost 50 workers by the end of 2019, the companies announced Monday in a written statement from the Indiana Economic Development Corp.

Indianapolis-based Aura IT Consulting Inc. said it plans to spend $503,000 to double the size of its 3,200-square-foot office at 3535 E. 96th St., giving it enough room to add 22 employees over the next four-plus years.

The company, which now has 22 workers, plans to begin hiring software developers, business analysts, project managers and network engineers later this year.

The IEDC offered Aura up to $235,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $40,000 in training grants based on the job-creation plans.

New York-based Return Path Inc. said it spend $347,000 to lease and equip 4,500 square feet of office space at Market Tower in downtown Indianapolis, allowing it to add 27 employees to the dozen it already has in the city.

The company, which offers email optimization, email fraud protection and consumer marketing services, said it has begun hiring for sales, marketing and service positions. Return Path has 11 offices and 470 employees worldwide.

The IEDC offered Return Path up to $260,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $150,000 in training grants based on the job-creation plans.
