James B. “Jim” Rentschler, former general manager at the University Club of Cincinnati, has been named general
manager of The Columbia Club, the historic downtown Indianapolis organization announced today.

Rentschler immediately
fills a position vacated by Maarten van Wijk, who left the club in January. Club Controller Curt Turner has acted as general
manager in the interim.

A Cincinnati native, Rentschler was previously general manager and chief operating officer
at The Toledo Club and general manager at Kenwood Country Club in Cincinnati.

In 2007, Van Wijk was hired away
from his position as general manager of the four-star Hotel Hershey in Hershey, Penn., by The Columbia Club to tune up operations.
He spent 19 months in Indianapolis before Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Corp. asked him to return to the same position.

Founded in 1889 by supporters of President Benjamin Harrison, The Columbia Club is based in a historic building on
Monument Circle and has about 1,800 members.
