Ex-Guide workers behind temps to return to GM

General Motors Corp. will accept its temporary workers as permanent employees before allowing former employees of Guide Corp. to transfer in under the tentative contract between the Detroit automaker and the United Auto Workers.

Guide, which was spun off from GM in 1998, in January abruptly shuttered its Anderson tail light plant and another in Monroe, La., after losing a GM contract. The Anderson plant employed 1,200.
