The new owners of Lafayette Square Mall plan to add entertainment on weekends as part of their efforts to revitalize the property, the mall said today.
New York-based Ashkenazy Acquisition, which closed the deal early this month, has set about filling the empty space.
But it also wants to rejuvenate the property to make it more family-friendly, said marketing director Amanda Royalty.
Entertainment could include ideas ranging from school performances to poetry readings.
“We want to get a big variety of things happening to bring warm bodies to the mall,” Royalty said.
The mall also will add two children’s play areas, the owners said.
