  1. Good riddance! Buttigieg had his 15 minutes of fame as a self-anointed theologian to justify his behavior and got to bad-mouth Mike Pence in the bargain….a man who always treated Buttigieg decently and respectfully while they were concurrently involved in Indiana politics.

Buttigieg’s position on right-to-life issues was reprehensible.

But you can be sure Hoosiers haven’t seen the last of him…he’ll surface to run for a U.S. Senate seat and likely pull wads of money from out-of-state culture-warrior activists and their acolytes who will judge him not by the content of his character, but by his willingness to flaunt his homosexuality as some sort of an odd qualification to hold public office.

At least this campaign forced him to spend time in the real world, apart from the intellectual bubble into which he was born and raised.

  2. Pete Buttigieg is a credit to Indiana, a young man of decency, intelligence, and political savvy. Whether you agree with his policy positions or not, this is the kind of leader we need to see more of, in Indiana, in the country, in the world.

  3. Political Savvy, Kai? Yes, in that he misrepresents himself as more moderate than he really is. That’s nothing new, however; virtually every liberal does that, although Bernie Sanders must be given credit for being more open than most.
Intelligence? It depends on how you measure it. In some respects, yes; in others, he is an ignoramus.
Decency? Surely you jest. Really; one who has succumbed to the common sin of homosexuality and who then flaunts his disrespect for our Creator’s design every chance he gets…and demonizes those who deign to point that out?
Yes, he does present himself well. ‘Too bad what he presents is offensive to people who understand the reality of unchanging human nature, and know that what he presents is limited by his lack of understanding or acknowledging it. Shackled by his lack of that understanding or acknowledgment, he would surely lead this country down the dead-end road that has destroyed every culture that has so traveled it through history. Or, as the man said, those who ignore the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it. Indeed, The United States of America, governed by such as Pete Buttigieg, would only hasten its ultimate demise.

  4. And who’s to say Buttigieg’s withdrawal wasn’t motivated by instructions / threats / payments from DNC operatives to get out before Super Tuesday so as to quit siphoning off delegates from more likely candidates like Joe “the Gaffe” Biden, who are perceived to have a better chance against Trump (albeit a fat chance!) and derail the insane Sanders train in the process?

  5. That’s an interesting word you pulled out there, Lester. Of everything I said, that’s the only thing on which you can comment? Sad; you must have such a shallow intellect.

  6. ‘The belief that there is only one truth and that oneself is in possession of it, seems to me the deepest root of all that is evil in the world.’

  7. If nothing else, the IBJ Comments section provides good insight into the publication’s readership demographic.

How many truths are there, Larry? If there is more than one, then how do you propose to define the word truth?
