    1. “News” from the Associated Press? You sweet summer child.

I can concede that the economy isn’t amazing in the least, but it’s remarkable that there was such silence while everyone got poorer from 2021-24, from the worst inflation our nation has faced since…well, since the Carter years. Okay, not as bad as Carter, but what growth would we have “enjoyed” if corrupt news sites like the AP had honestly accounted for inflation during their preferred president’s administration?

Did you feel a difference during the Biden years, Geoffrey? Or are you part of the subset that was so wealthy (i.e., the people actually running things since Biden was senile the entire time) that capital gains helped offset inflation to the point that a six-figure loss in net worth was akin to a rounding error?

    2. What silence? Right-wingers would never shut up about how awful the economy was. Meanwhile, we’re barreling towards stagflation and the Republicans are gleeful.

Just can it, Lauren. You aren’t a serious person.

    3. Overall the economy grew under Biden. The idiot in chief we have now has no clue how anything works,

    4. Literally everyone screamed about inflation during the Biden administration. Its the single most important topic that got Trump reelected! The problem is that Trump promised to fix it on day one and like always, he over promised and delivered nothing.

  1. Actually Lauren, yes, I did feel a difference during the Biden years – apparently you didn’t? I didn’t realize I was part of that subset though. Appreciate the clarification.

  2. I cannot believe the first statement was printed by the IBJ staff…

“The U.S. economy shrank at a 0.5% annual pace from January through March as President Donald Trump’s trade wars disrupted business, the Commerce Department reported Thursday in an unexpected deterioration of earlier estimates.”

    Let’s dissect that for a minute…
    1) Trump took office on January 20th.. 2/3 of the month has passed…
    2) Apparently, the AP writer doesn’t know a thing about economic momentum caused by the 4 years of Biden/Harris policy
    3) No new tariff was announced until at least Feb. 10th by executive order, or 1/3 of the way through the mentioned quarter
    4) No announced tariff went into effect until approximately March 12th

Therefore, no Trump tariff could have had any affect, unless psychological, on any economic trends in the first quarter of 2025..

Summation… AP article is BS.. have a nice day
