A brief history: Resolution Group began in 2008 as a niche technical staffing firm, supplying skilled professionals such as field inspectors, computer-aided-design technicians and other technician-level talent to civil engineering firms across Indiana. Over time, the company transitioned to providing comprehensive civil engineering services.
What it does: David Replogle, one of the company’s founders, and his wife, Dawn, a 30-year veteran of the engineering industry, said RGI’s services include design, inspection and surveying. Its work is largely in the public sector, with clients that include the Indiana Department of Transportation, city of Indianapolis and surrounding counties, Indianapolis International Airport, Citizens Energy Group, IndyGo, the Indiana Toll Road and a variety of contractors. “We’re able to offer turnkey solutions for engineering—roads, bridges, utilities,” David said. “They don’t just come to us for any one thing; they come to us because we can do the entire project now.”
Driving growth: The Replogles said RGI’s growth has been fueled by several factors, including a commitment to Indiana infrastructure, certification as an XBE (woman-owned business and disadvantaged business)—“which has opened doors to meaningful partnerships and new opportunities”—and diversity. That means diversity of employees, clients, services, training and experiences. “The more diversified your business can be, whether it’s what you do or [whom] you serve, the more stable you are with economic shifts,” Dawn said.
Client success: Over the past five years, RGI has established a strong and evolving relationship with the civil-engineering firm Butler Fairman & Seufert and the Indianapolis Airport Authority through the airport’s Mentor-Protégé Program. The partnership has “enhanced our capabilities and affirmed our commitment to delivering high-quality, efficient and safe engineering solutions,” David said.
Looking ahead: The Replogles said they’re optimistic about the future. In January, RGI acquired a four-person environmental firm, expanding its capabilities into environmental services that complement its existing engineering, survey and inspection departments. “This strategic move further supports our goal of diversifying our people, services, clients and project experiences,” Dawn said.•
