  1. This law sounds like a knee-jerk response to necessary COVID closings, e.g., you can’t hold class when 30% of your staff is out sick. Once again, our legislators didn’t think whether there was a true abuse of at-home learning, and they didn’t think through the unintended consequences. Legislative bodies across the country seem to be passing many laws that haven’t been well-researched, with little to no discussion with the people most impacted by these laws. I predict this law will be significantly altered next year after they see the adjustments that schools are forced to make in order to comply.
