  1. Missed it entirely.

    “Leadership development” and “companies having their back” are two entirely different dimensions of the employment relationship. Even an old white Boomer understands this.

    “Focus on people”, however, gets more at “companies having their back”. And focusing on people as more than a cog in the wheel is critical. If it’s all about what the company needs from someone, then “leadership development” fails as an employee relations/corporate strategy.
