  1. With mayor McDermott being a Republican, we assume the potential preferred site will be in his Hammond city, not the democrat controlled Gary. We also assume the recently announced withdrawal of Congressional candidate Green will leave the overall Region in democrat control.
    Yet to be seen, but enacting a new regional sales tax like Indy did for the Hoosier Dome and Lucas Oil Stadium, could be a very hard sell to the local population.

    1. It’s a billion dollar Republican stunt to “own the libs” in Illinois at taxpayer expense. We will be left paying for an empty stadium after 5 years whose only events will be Monster Jam and maybe an XFL/UFL franchise that gets 7,000 fans.
