Maybe Republicans could start with all the things they changed from the original ACA and put those back and see if it helps costs.
Or, just acknowledge that either we are going to have a market-driven healthcare system that costs a ton of money … or you realize there’s a reason that no other country does healthcare like we do for a reason.
There’s a reason the Heritage Foundation screams up and down that the ACA didn’t mirror their thinking, even though … it did.

Republicans love to attack anything Dems accomplished for which they have no better solutions. They don’t see things from the standpoint of do Americans win or lose but only from the standpoint of do Republicans win or lose – or these days its does Trump win or lose because he doesn’t really care if the Republican base wins or loses because all he has to do is tell them they won and they believe him
No matter what Republicans do this year, I’m hosed. I don’t qualify for any subsidies and my only choice for healthcare insurance is the ACA marketplace. My plan was $900 a month last year. This year it’s $1200 a month. Because the insurance company has already set the rates for that crummy bronze high deductible plan no matter what the Republicans do between now and the end of the year I’ll still be paying $1200 a month.
The two biggest lies in politics are: Republicans will replace ACA with a new and better plan; Democrats will create a path to citizenship. Seems neither happens when the party making the promise is totally in power.
