I knew Nascar was much bigger than Indycar but media rights of $1.1 billion vs $30 million is insane.
I used to do business with IMS and someone who is VERY high up there once told me that they would make a lot of money off of Nascar even if they didn’t sell a single ticket.
This should be good exposure with Fox broadcasting. Lessons learned…get the broadcast started at the start of the race, not lap 6 when there is a caution flag.
The concern now is Fox overbooking the events they cover. Yesterday’s start delay and then moving to FS1 for the Portland race, so Fox could show the ‘playoff’ of LIV golf, was not only ridiculous but very frustrating. Fox did that a few weeks ago with the UFL game and another race. . If Fox can’t schedule back to back events without a time buffer so the next event doesn’t start on time or moved to FS1, what’s the point!? They are shortchanging the IndyCar fans. LIV golf and UFL should be the event moved to FS1, not IndyCar!
