More evidence that Republicans are incapable of governing
You must be kidding. What party has voted 12 times in the last couple of weeks to pass a clean resolution and get the government back open. What party will not? The way it is going, the only way these idiots in Congress (both parties!) will do anything is when the first crash happens (and no, the UPS crash was the result of an apparent engine explosion).
What party knew that whatever they did would have to go through the Senate, but had the bill start in the House? And the House promptly passed a bill and ran for the hills and doesn’t even show up to work? Republicans are behaving like a terrorist organization, “do what we want or watch us hurt people”.
Republicans knew from the outset they would have to have something in the bill to have Democratic support or they would have to blow up the filibuster. That Republicans won’t even take rescissions off the table shows they’re not a group of adults to be trusted any longer.
This is what happens when the inmates take over the asylum. It’s going to take the Republican Party a long time to cleanse itself of the current rot.
This government must be removed from power. This is an abject disgrace and failure to govern.

Bottom line is that FAA controllers in the airport and at TRACON centers make a good living. Furthermore, the credit unions that serve federal workers have offered no-interest loans for as long as the controllers are not getting their paychecks (the loans repaid by the back pay the occurs when the government re-opens.
