  1. It seems rather obvious that Martin University is a pretty low quality school that has a model of relying on the tuition of students who are highly unlikely to graduate. So what’s the purpose of keeping it going? Higher education needs a shakeout of schools like this and it’s better for everyone in the long run.

    1. Martin has been circling the drain for decades and at 200 students it is laughable to call it a “university”. If it was truly filling a niche and more importantly, self sufficient, cool, but the reality is we will never know how much in taxpayer subsidies it has sucked in over the years
It is only a story because there is a racial element and that is important to “journalists” like Nate Feltman and his political masters, to we will see a string of stories wailing as if Purdue was closing its doors.

  2. Poor outcomes and poorly run, maybe a noble mission, but despite Chuck’s little jabs, I am curious, at what cost to taxpayers and well intentioned people? Honoring a legacy is one thing but Martin University may have just been feel-good window dressing in the end. That said, we still need to find ways to lift all boats — good for us all.
