Serioiusly, Melton. The Bears don’t want just an entertainment district, the Bears want an entertainment district that they own and can profit from. Portage, how do you plan to pay for it?
It would seem that the best chance for the Bears to consider Indiana is to have ONE strong plan not areas working against each other. This divide and conquer will just push their interest back to Illinois. Lets get real with one solid proposal. This is one area for the state to take the lead.
IF the Bears are to come to Indiana, the stadium needs to be somewhere on the South Shore Line.
The Bears are playing Indiana like a fiddle. They will never move out of state. It’s funny how our General Assembly can act quickly to authorize the financing of this boondoggle but simultaneously say that the numbers don’t work for a soccer stadium in Indianapolis.
