morning. Shane Owens is in critical condition. None of the children on the bus were hurt. Officers say they found Owens asleep
behind the wheel of his car, gave him a field sobriety test and asked him a few questions, but eventually let him go. A records
check performed after the crash revealed that Owens has a suspended driver’s license and a possible outstanding warrant in
Henry County. Department policy leaves it up to the discretion of officers whether to run records checks.
