to broaden its services.
The printer, Vista Graphic Communications LLC, announced yesterday that it has acquired Centennial Press-Printing and Mail
for an undisclosed price. The deal became effective Oct. 31.
Vista founder and President Tim Rolfsen said Centennial’s direct-mail capabilities and associated service of data analysis
complemented his company, so he approached the Connor family a year ago with the idea.
Steve Connor Sr. owns 80 percent of Centennial; and his son, Steve Connor Jr., owns the balance. The father was not initially
looking to sell the company, but
later decided to part with it as an exit strategy, Rolfsen said.
Steve Connor Jr. is joining Vista as manager of the plant, which will remain at Vista’s current 7915 E. 30 St. headquarters.
Connor could not be reached for comment.
The combined company is expected to generate $7.9 million in sales next year and $9 million by 2011. Eighteen Centennial workers
are anticipated to join Vista to make a total roster of 36.
It’s the second such merger in Indianapolis in recent months. In July, Printing Partners Inc., one of the largest commercial
printers in the area, acquired Budget Direct Mail for more than $500,000, also in an attempt to vertically integrate.
