Indy Firehouse No. 29The owner of the former Indianapolis Firehouse No. 29 at 2302 Shelby St. has put the property up for sale with an asking price of $175,000. The current owner, a car collector who made good use of the garage space, lived in the structure for 16 years before marrying and buying another home, said listing agent Mary Ellen Magee with F.C. Tucker Co. The firehouse was built in the early 1900s, she said, back when horses pulled firefighting equipment. She's marketing the space as a live-work opportunity. It has 3,900 square feet and three large overhead doors on the main level and a remodeled loft-style living space on the second. The property, which is zoned commercial, sits on one-fourth of an acre just a block west of the Raymond Street interchange with Interstate 65. The listing is here.
