Bo Jackson and Jerry Rice will tee it up this Tuesday at The Bridgewater Club in Carmel at a golf outing to raise funds for qualified, not-for-profit organizations that provide community-based access to athletics for children under the age of 18.

Event organizers hope to raise $350,000 at the 11th annual Finish Line Youth Foundation golf outing on Tuesday. Finish Line vendors, business partners and employees will be among those teeing it up with Jackson, a former Heisman Trophy winner who went on to star in the NFL and Major League Baseball, and Rice, who is an NFL Hall of Famer considered by many to be the best wide receiver ever.

Jackson and Rice are expected to tee off around 11 a.m. and will talk to members of the local media shortly before that. Finish Line Chairman and CEO Glenn Lyon also will address the media on Tuesday.

Jackson and Rice should find plenty of challenges Tuesday. According to U.S. Golf Association slope ratings, The Bridgewater Club, a private club that opened in 2003, is the eighth toughest in central Indiana. It was designed by famed course designer Pete Dye.

The Finish Line has long been active in a variety of youth causes. The Indianapolis-based retail chain and its Youth Foundation just completed a 19-day Back to School Drive in Finish Line stores nationwide that raised $513,330 for Special Olympics.
