TallmanThe Hoosier Lottery Commission will be running at full strength with two recent appointments by Gov. Mike Pence.
Luke Bosso, a Republican, and Debra Kunce, a Democrat, will join the five-member board. Bosso is a regulatory and permitting ombudsman at Develop Indy, the economic development wing of the Indy Chamber. He ran for state representative against Rep. Ed DeLaney in 2012. Kunce, an architect, is principal of Core Planning Strategies and previously spent 18 years with Schmidt Associates.
No more than three of the members may be from the same party. Current commissioners Greg Fitzloff and Kate Snedeker are Republicans, while Chairman William Zielke is independent.
• Being the longest-serving broadcast station manager in the Indianapolis market is a notable feat in itself. Lloyd Wright has been president and CEO of WFYI Public Media for 24 years.
WrightThis month, Wright also was inducted into the Richard M. Fairbanks Indiana Broadcast Hall of Fame, which is hosted by the Indiana Broadcasters Association and the Richard M. Fairbanks Indiana Broadcast Pioneers.
The local PBS radio/TV affiliate has seen its operating budget grow to more than $10 million from the $2.5 million when Wright took over in 1989.
Wright also guided a move of the station’s facilities to a more modern facility just down Meridian Street, in 2008. The Indiana University graduate is serving his fourth term on the PBS board of directors.
