Builders filed 328 single-family permits in the nine-county metropolitan area last month, BAGI said. That's a 13-percent decrease from February 2014.
Marion County saw 56 filings in February, an 8-percent decrease from a year ago.
Housing hotbed Hamilton County led the area in filings, with 134 in February. But the number was down by 17 percent for the second straight month.
Filings fell 16 percent in Hendricks County, to 41, and sank 17 percent in Johnson County, to 34.
Hancock County saw a 29-percent decrease in permits, to 20.
Filings rose from 29 to 31 in Boone County.
Madison County had seven filings, Morgan County had three and Shelby had two.
