Teachers Credit Union expanding in Hamilton County

The state’s largest credit union is expanding in the northern suburbs.

South Bend-based Teachers Credit Union recently opened its first branch in Westfield and has plans to open a second location in Noblesville later this month. The new Westfield branch is located at 144 W. Main St. on the corner of Westlea Drive in the former First Merchants Bank building.

The Noblesville branch will also occupy a former First Merchants Bank building on State Road 37 between Pleasant Street and State Road 32/38. It is expected to open April 18.

TCU finished 2015 with $2.9 billion in assets, which is more than all but seven Indiana-based banks and represents a more than 200 percent growth since 2000. It has 53 branches throughout Indiana and Michigan and more than 250,000 members.

Other suburban locations include one in inside the Meijer stores in Carmel and Noblesville and one standalone branch in Fishers. TCU is also located inside the Meijer at 8375 E. 96th St., which is in Indianapolis.
