As is the custom for the last column of the year, I present to you a puzzle. Fill in the missing letter in each of the five-letter words below. Note that there are several possible answers, so select your letters carefully before transferring the letters you picked to the corresponding numbered boxes. The results are three nine-letter first and last names of famous Hoosiers. After discovering the names of the famous Hoosiers, place their numbers in the appropriate boxes to decipher the double-top-secret message. The O's have been filled in for you.
