  1. This sounds like an outstanding project that will bring great jobs to Decatur from a world class player in the data center space and less traffic to the area than another warehouse for logistics.

    1. Over 1 million square feet of space for 100 jobs. 50-year tax breaks from the State. I alone will pay more sales tax for a new computer purchase than an entire data center. Where will the power come from, and more importantly, who will be subsidizing it? AES ratepayers will be paying for it. See what data centers are doing to electricity costs in Maryland: https://www.cnn.com/2025/11/14/climate/virginia-data-centers-ai-maryland-electricity-bill-increase.

Do you really think these data centers will be here in 50 years, let alone 20?

Yeah, great economic deal – for the data center – not for the local taxpayer. I really hope this project DOES NOT goes through.

    1. Yes, it is the computers inside. The $4B number is irrelevant as an “investment in Indiana” as almost all of that money will be spent in California.

  2. These data centers are only coming here for the incentives! If they had to place these here at full market rate of property taxes, infrastructure improvements and utility costs, they would locate somewhere else! They bring very few long term jobs compared to the negatives the bring to utilities and water usage! Celebrating these data centers is shortsighted and naive.
