    1. He has no interest in the staffing required for the drive-in model. He could be competing with Culver’s or Freddy’s; he’s instead competing with Rally’s.

The only salvation for Steak and Shake is a sale to someone else.

  1. Going back to Drive -IN’s is definitely a great option they have of reinventing themselves. Car-Hops, and a snazzy outfit, will add jobs for young folks, and it keeps patrons safe distancing. Yes it will take a lot of investment doing that as well, but I would think, being int the commercial real estate arena and the forecast long range, they can do that. R-organize with current stockholders and they would embrace, to try to recoup losses.

    1. The CEO’s only interest is in employing as few people as possible. He wants to automate the kitchen and cut staffing to the bone. He has no understanding of the brand he owns, and his corporate governance structure of yes-men means there’s no one to tell the emperor he has no clothes.

Little wonder the company they owe nine figures to won’t allow them to sell more assets trying to keep their head above water. They should agree to the sale if Biglari sells his stake in SnS.

I mean, it’s obvious the company is doomed. Darrell and I agree on this topic and we don’t agree on ANYTHING else best I can tell. That’s got to mean something.

  2. The Steak n Shake saga is one of piss pour corporate management and clueless out of touch marketing strategies.

We can only hope and pray the chain would be sold to a company that really believes in Steak N Shake and resurrect the grand ol’ institution back to its former grandeur.
