Indianapolis-based Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Indiana Realty announced Wednesday that it has acquired Carmel-based ERA Real Estate Links.
Financial terms of the deal, which became effective Wednesday, were not disclosed.
The combined firm, which will operate under the Berkshire Hathaway name, would rank as the state’s third-largest real estate firm based on 5,588 closed transactions and $1.351 billion in volume in 2019, the companies said.
The acquisition grows the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Indiana Realty network to nearly 450 agents in 16 offices in Indiana, including 250 agents in the Indianapolis area.
ERA Real Estate Links has 50 agents, including Mike Deck, who led the area’s No. 4 residential real estate team last year, according to IBJ’s latest list of All-Star Agents.
The seven-person Team Deck had total sales volume of $157.8 million in 2017 and 2018 while closing 251 transactions.
Deck will join the combined firm as Carmel regional vice president. Deck is one of three ERA Real Estate Links agents who rank in the top 50 among Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors members. The firm primarily serves the Carmel, Westfield, Zionsville, Noblesville and Fishers markets.
“Our intention is to bring in great companies like Mike’s to enhance our service offerings and continue to build our brand of excellence across the state,” Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Indiana Realty CEO Craig West said in written remarks.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices has a top All-Star Agent team of its own in veteran Dick Richwine. The 19-person Dick Richwine Group finished No. 2 on the latest All-Star Agents list with $201.8M in sales volume in 2017-18 and 596 closed transactions.
The combined company said it is finalizing plans to build a new office building at the northeast corner of Interstate 65 and Whitestown Parkway that will service the Zionsville, Whitestown and Brownsburg region.
