  1. I don’t know, but you’d think that with 1,000 people working in the building that someone would’ve seen what started the fire. Pretty incredible to hear that nobody was injured.

    1. Paul L – At 1,200,000 square feet and more than 1,000 employees, that’s 1,200 square feet per employee. Accounting for racks and stacks of merchandise, multitudes of equipment to move it all around, it’s not surprising no one may have seen the first flame. I’m sure the investigation will includes employee interviews, review of security camera videos, and forensic analysis of burned materials. In the end, it will be known exactly where the fire began, and how it started.

    2. Yeah. I appreciate the math. Sounds like about 20 football fields. I get that they probably don’t want to speculate and leak information before it’s been fully investigated, but I’m sure someone knows where it started, even if they didn’t see the first flame.

  2. 1.2 million sq/ft is 27.5 acres. No wonder there was so much smoke!

Did they not have a sprinkler system, and with a building that sized not one firewall?
