Must be out or Government money……Back to work….
Exactly – don’t want to deplete that $9 Billion nest egg.
You really don’t understand the issue, do you? It’s really pretty simple. When your inpatient beds are overflowing with COVID patients (most of them unvaccinated by choice), there quite simply ARE NO MORE BEDS available for patients with non-emergency, elective medical needs. And, with so many employees caring for COVID patients (most of them willfully unvaccinated), there ARE NOT ENOUGH EMPLOYEES to care for patients with non-emergency, elective medical needs. At the peak of the latest surge, this particular health system was caring for nearly 500 unvaccinated COVID inpatients who might not have needed hospital care had they chosen to get the shot. That means nearly 500 other patients could not be served because these unvaccinated COVID patients were filling the beds. Are you suggesting that hospitals should build bigger facilities with extra beds and extra staff, to have available just in case of surges like this? I imagine you might view that as a waste of money.
You really haven’t walked into a hospital in the last 2 years Steve D. it is quite clear.
Thanks for playing.
JCB- What Steve says is EXACTLY correct. I work for IUH, in a Covid ICU, so I’m not sure what kind of hospital you’re walking in, but what Steve said, is precisely what I see.
