Some notes from around the arts and entertainment world.
--Indianapolis Opera will open its 2010/11 season with "The Mikado," a production that was canceled last season. It's set to run Oct. 15 and 17 with William Fabris (IO's "Pirates of Penzance") directing.
--The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra has added an Aug. 15 special event to its Symphony on the Prairie schedule. Garrison Keillor will host "A Prairie Home Companion: Summer Love" concert that will include appearances by singer/songwriter/fiddler Sara Watkins and sound-effects man Fred Newman. General public tickets go on sale May 10.
-On the community theater side, Carmel Repertory Theatre will be offering the local premiere of Jason Robert Brown's Broadway musical "13." Auditions for the all-teen show are in June with the production running in October.
--The Cleveland Symphony, which canceled an IU Bloomington visit due to a musicians' strike, has rescheduled. Look for the acclaimed orchestra to visit in January for a residency leading to a Jan. 25 concert.
