For me, the weekend included a trip to Conner Prairie to check out the new Civil War interactives. More on those in my upcoming column.
I also finished reading E. L. Doctorow's "Reporting the Universe," a slender book of essays from 2003 about literature and religion that I didn't know about until I found it in a used book store last week.
"Whitman when he walked the streets of New York loved everything he saw..." writes Doctorow of the famed poet. "...he could carry it all, the whole city, and attend like a nurse to its illnesses but like a lover to its fair face. And so must we."
Inspiring, thought-provoking stuff.
I also have been chipping away at screening as many Indianapolis International Film Festival movies as I can, the better to offer a recommendation list prior to the July event.
What did you see, hear or do this weekend on the A&E front?
