--Indy Jazz Fest has announced its lineup for its September 14-23 events. Acts include vocalist Jane Monheit in a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, saxophonist Kirk Whalum, trumpeter Randy Brecker, and the Ignacio Berroa Cubop Quintet. Plus a Hammond B3 organ summit with masterclasses, concerts, and more, and a block party outside of the Jazz Kitchen. Details here

--IU's Jacobs School of Music is partnering with Santa Fe Opera, San Francisco Opera, and Seattle Opera to co-produce "The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs," a new opera. After productions elsewhere, it will have its collegiate premiere in Bloomington in September of 2018.

--Indy Film Fest, which recently completed its annual run, returns in 2018 for a 15th year but with a significant change. The event will shift from mid-summer to April/May in an effort to include both more films and more filmmakers.

--The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra has inked an agreement with Disney Concerts to present the first two films of the original Star Wars trilogy as part of its 2018-19 season.

--And Happy Birthday to the Children's Museum's carousel, celebrating its 100th on July 25.
