Roundup: Westfield’s first winery set to open; Seymour brewpub targets Fishers

Westfield’s first winery is set to open on Saturday.

Urban Vines, owned by Noah Herron, sits on a 5-acre property at 303 E. 161st St. A 4,000-square-foot building houses the wine-processing operations, sales area and a tasting room. Four acres are being used for a vineyard.

The tasting room can hold more than 80 visitors, and an outdoor patio overlooks a pond and the vineyard.

The winery is just down the road from Herron’s other business, Urban Farmer.

Herron announced plans for the winery and vineyard in April 2016.

In other North of 96th retail news:

• A Seymour restaurant is expanding into Fishers.

Rails Craft Brew & Eatery is preparing to open May 15 at 13578 E. 131st St. in the Bonn Building at the Saxony Village.

The restaurant, which opened two years ago in Seymour, features American cuisine such as cold-cut sandwiches, burgers, steaks and pasta.

• Another eatery opened along Westfield’s “restaurant row” at the end of last month. Chiba, at 228 Park St., is a sushi restaurant with a bar and lounge. Owner Keith Dusko also operates Chiba in New Orleans.

• A French restaurant is set to replace Patrick’s Kitchen and Drinks at the Brick Street Inn in Zionsville. The Auberge is expected to open this month.

Patrick’s Kitchen closed at the end of 2016, but owners Patrick Mullen and Beth Dickerson continue to operate Patrick’s Smokehouse Kitchen at Danny Boy Beer Works in Carmel.

• Noah Grant’s Grill House & Oyster Bar is relocating in Zionsville, but it’s not going very far. The restaurant at 65 S. First St. will move about a block east, to 91 S. Main St., this summer.

• Westfield won’t be the only Hamilton County community with a grand opening event this weekend. Chipotle Mexican Grill will open a new location Saturday at 12831 Campus Parkway in Noblesville.

The fast-casual restaurant will start welcoming customers at 10:30 a.m. The first 25 through the door will receive a free entree on their next visit.

• A new sandwich shop is on tap for Carmel. Erbert & Gerbert’s plans to open at 102 E. Carmel Drive. The franchise started in Wisconsin in 1988 and  has more than 100 locations in 12 states, including one in Broad Ripple. It carries sub sandwiches, soups and wraps.

• Uplift Intimate Apparel opened Wednesday at 711 Veterans Way, next to Hubbard & Cravens, at Carmel City Center. The shop offers bra fittings and a selection of intimate apparel.

• Little Eyes Pediatric Eye Care is relocating from 726 Adams St. in Carmel to 1372 S. Rangeline Road, this month. The location is in The Centre retail development near 116th Street.

• On 96th Street, a swim school for infants and children is expected to open June 2 at 4825 E. 96th St. in River Ridge Crossing Commons. Aqua-Tots Swim School has an 6,800-square-foot facility with an indoor heated pool, free Wi-Fi and viewing area for parents, play area for children, snack bar and retail section.

• Blaze Pizza and ATI Physical Therapy are moving into a new outlot building on the northeast corner of Fishers Corner Boulevard and Commercial Drive in front of Target.

• A new hair salon is coming to Fishers. Celebrity Style Salon and Spa has filed plans to open at 11691 Olio Road.

• O'Reilly Auto Parts has another Fishers location in the works. A 7,200-square-foot store is expected to open at 14067 Trade Center Drive, just to the west of State Road 37. O’Reilly Auto Parts has another Fishers store at 11033 Allisonville Road.
