Developer plans jump park next to proposed laser tag venue in Westfield

A developer announced plans Friday to open a jump park in Westfield as part of huge family entertainment center.

EdgeRock Development said Friday that the multi-level, 40,000 square foot jump park will open next to the Laser Flash entertainment center under development on State Road 32, west of U.S. 31. The owner said the jump park is expected to be "the largest in the area" and will be "equipped with the best trampolines and rock-climbing walls." 

Laser Flash announced earlier this year it would relocate from its Carmel location to Westfield, where EdgeRock Development is building the Landing at Monon Marketplace at the southwest corner of U.S. 31 and State Road 32, near Grand Park.

The two recreational facilities will anchor a 140,000 square retail center called Dartown Crossing.

A Starbucks, Crew Car Wash, Penn Station and Forum Credit Union are already under construction on the 40-acre site that will be home to the Landing at Monon Marketplace and Dartown Crossing. A Big Woods Restaurant also is planned for the area. EdgeRock plans to secure a hotel for the site by the end of the year.

The jump park will be owned by Tom Holsworth, vice president of Carmel-based Quontic Bank. Construction is expected begin on the jump park and Laser Flash by spring with plans for both locations to open before the 2019 holiday season.

Holsworth said when EdgeRock approached him about building a jump park near Laser Flash, he saw a great opportunity to serve the local community and Grand Park visitors.

“My family is a big user of such facilities and I know the Hamilton County area well, so it made sense for me to get this business going now while my family can be a big part of it,” he said in written comments. “I couldn’t be more excited to bring something like this to the area of Westfield.”
