Another D’vine move; Siam Square

A popular northside wine bar will close at the end of October to move to a smaller space behind Castleton Square Mall. D’vine a wine bar moved from Woodfield Crossing into the Echelon building near 82nd Street and Allisonville Road late in 2007. Now, the owners are looking at space about half the size of the 5,500 square feet at Echelon. If the owners can secure financing, the restaurant will share a building with the King’s Image men’s clothing shop near Buca di Beppo, said owner Bennet Ackerman. The Echelon space was too large and impersonal, he said. There is no reopening date.

In other restaurant news, a new Thai restaurant called Siam Square opened on Monday at 936 Virginia Ave. Paul Baumgarten of the Southeast Neighborhood Development group raved in an e-mail: “The décor is very minimal, but very appealing. The food is top notch, and the owners, Ed and Sasatone Rudisell, are great people.”
