For the first time at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, fans will have the opportunity to purchase premium club level seating for the 2016 racing season and beyond.

The Hulman Terrace Club, located on the outside of the front straightaway of the 2.5-mile oval past the turn four exit, will feature more than 1,000 seats plus ADA-accessible seating for fans seeking a club option similar to what is offered at many other major U.S. stadiums, Speedway officials announced Monday.
The Hulman Terrace Club is the first new seating option at IMS in more than a decade and a key piece of the ongoing Project 100 initiative, said IMS President Doug Boles.
Tickets for the new section—which cost $1,750 each—go on sale Dec. 1.

If all the seats in the new club area are sold, more than $1.75 million in additional revenue will be generated next year for the Speedway.

Since being hired in December, 2012, Hulman & Co. CEO Mark Miles has made numerous moves to rev up the month of May in Indianapolis and bolster the IMS' overall revenue. Miles' initiatives have included seeking financial assistance from state lawmakers to spruce up the fabled race track west of downtown Indianapolis.

Miles, former boss of the ATP Tour (professional men's tennis) and head of the city's 2012 Super Bowl Host Committee, also has championed the idea of borrowing ideas (ie: club seats) from other sports.
The seats within the new premium section will be good for 14 days of racing from May-July including the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR Brickyard 400.

Ticketholders in the section will get a reserved spot in an upper-level 22-inch stadium seat plus access to a private area where food and beverages can be purchased. Fans in the section also will have access to a new outdoor deck area with a covered bar on the south end of the club area. The outdoor deck will surround a large indoor pavilion.

“The Hulman Terrace Club offers a spectacular spectator experience that we’ve never had before at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway,” Boles said. “A seat in the Hulman Terrace Club is a premium season ticket to what will be a great 2016 at IMS.”

Next year's Indianapolis 500 will mark the 100th running of the famous open-wheel race.
