Sadly, nothing will succeed in that Rebar spot until the jail moves. All those bail bonds places kill those two blocks. Shame, because they had a nice whiskey selection.
Delaware Street is also a pedestrian repellent. It’s not fun to walk next to five lanes of car traffic on a sidewalk with few trees and has received minimal repairs over the years. In an area that relies on pedestrian activity for business to thrive, Delaware Street has been the antithesis.
Legal Begal should have just re-opened exactly as it was. It was packed after most shifts ended during the week and drew all types.
This restaurant bar isn’t near the jail. Should be an amazing addition to the neighborhood!!
Um, Gabrielle…Rebar is literally right across the street from the City County Building Jail. Perhaps you are confusing it with the jail just south of the IndyGo transit hub. Regardless, this strip of Delaware is poised for renewal once the jail and related services move out of the CCB. All the bail bond stores are perfect for development.
