Police say a man held his 3-year-old son hostage for two hours last night. SWAT units were called to the 5900 block of Belford Court on the northwest side of Indianapolis about 10:30 p.m. Marvin Parish, 43, faces multiple charges, including criminal confinement. Police are investigating a crash involving a transport van loaded with prisoners. The accident happened just after midnight near 69th Street and Keystone Avenue. Five prisoners, a Marion County sheriff’s deputy and the driver of the other vehicle were all taken to local hospitals. None of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.
