Attendance down at Big Ten tournament-WEB ONLY

The struggling economy clearly affected attendance at this year’s Big Ten men’s basketball tournament, as ticket sales declined 15 percent from last year, according to figures released today by the Indiana Sports Corp. Two held in overnight shooting on west side-WEB ONLY

Police have two people in custody after a shooting near West Washington and West Ohio streets at about 3 a.m. The unidentified male victim was taken to Wishard Hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds to his stomach and arm. Officers said they found a pistol and assault rifle in the victim’s house.

Butler University is raising its tuition by 3.5 percent in what school officials say is the smallest increase since 1975. The Indianapolis school is also raising room-and-board rates by 3.5 percent.
