BoomBozz pizzeria closes in Fishers, making room for liquor store

BoomBozz Craft Pizza & Taphouse in Fishers has closed, and 21^st Amendment Wine & Spirits is planning to open a liquor store in its place.

Lou Anne Brennan, president and chief financial officer of Indianapolis-based 21^st Amendment, said her company purchased the 7,200-square-foot building that housed BoomBozz two weeks ago from a holding company.

BoomBozz, which opened the Fishers location at 9887 E. 116^th St. in 2016, closed sometime after Nov. 14. Representatives from BoomBozz did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Brennan said 21^st Amendment’s liquor license application has already been approved for the location. The company expects to start construction within the next two weeks and to have a grand opening in January.

Brennan said this will be the third location for 21st Amendment in Fishers, but the first location that it owns. It leases stores at 8664 E. 116^th St. and 8360 E. 96^th St.

She expects to hire about 12 employees at the new location, including a wine consultant.

“We’ve always wanted to invest in Fishers,” Brennan said.

She said the layout will be the same as the store at 146^th and Carey Road. It will feature a beer cooler, a wine cellar and a tasting room.

Louisville-based TBB America LLC ’s website lists 10 BoomBozz locations besides the one in Fishers, in Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.

BoomBozz opened its first Indiana store at 2430 E. 146th St. in Westfield in 2012. That location remains open. The only other BoomBozz in the state is in Jeffersonville.
