New features being added to the state of Indiana's budget transparency website include the ability for users to sign up for e-mail alerts when information they are interested in is updated.

State Auditor Tim Berry on Monday announced upgrades to the website that was launched last summer to pull together state and local government budget data, spending reports and other financial information from various state agencies.

The new features include more reports on local government spending and performance reviews of state agencies.

The not-for-profit Sunshine Review group gives the  Indiana Transparency Portal an A-minus grade and has recognized it among 11 state websites exceeding minimum transparency standards.
