Springer picked to head small business operation

Indiana's Office of Small Business Entrepreneurship has picked a new director for its efforts to provide contracts to small businesses.

Shane Springer was announced Friday as the new head of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center. The center helps small businesses seeking federal, state and local government contracts.

Springer is a U.S. Army veteran who served in Iraq in 2005. Prior to joining the contracting center, he worked for four years in the General Assembly as a legislative assistant and policy analyst.
