Republican Suzanne Crouch has won a full term as Indiana's auditor.

Crouch's victory Tuesday over Democratic accountant Mike Claytor and Libertarian John Schick ensures a Republican will continue overseeing the state's financial operations.

Gov. Mike Pence appointed Crouch to serve as auditor following Dwayne Sawyer's abrupt resignation last November. Sawyer had been picked to serve out former Auditor Tim Berry's term after Berry was tapped as Republican Party chairman by Pence.

Crouch spent much of the campaign arguing that she has increased transparency in the office in the past year. Claytor used the campaign to highlight a series of high-profile scandals and argue that a check was needed on Statehouse Republicans.

Crouch is a former state lawmaker and a Vanderburgh County auditor.
