Indianapolis radio station WTTS-FM 92.3 is shaking up its longtime management team, Bloomington-based parent company Sarkes Tarzian Inc. announced Tuesday.

Geoff Vargo plans to retire as the president and general manager after a 37-year executive career with Sarkes Tarzian and 30 years of leading WTTS and sister station WGCL in Bloomington.

Brad Holtz, longtime program director and current WTTS/WGCL station manager, will become general manager Jan. 1. Holtz, a 21-year veteran of Indianapolis radio who started his career with Emmis Communications, has overseen programming and marketing at WTTS since 2003. He was an IBJ Forty Under 40 selection in 2016.

Music director and assistant program director Laura Duncan has been promoted to program director, effective immediately. Duncan, a 30-year industry veteran, has been music director at WTTS since 2004. She has hosted midday and afternoon broadcasting shifts since her arrival at the station in 2002

WTTS has found a popular "radio rebel" niche in the Indianapolis market by sticking with an adult album alternative—or Triple A—format since 1992. The loose format offers a combination of new, alternative and deep classic rock.

The station also has one of the state’s largest coverage areas, with studios and offices in both downtown Indianapolis and Bloomington.
