8 thoughts on “Avon voters approve school tax renewal despite Beckwith opposition”
Proof that voters are willing to be taxed to have better schools, which draws more residents and business. Big rebuke for the MAGAt Beckwith.
Will he (and they) learn? Beckwith was against but did he even educate himself on the issues? It didn’t seem like it as he was on twitter cheering those that opposed without discussing the issues or need. That’s just reckless for a Statewide office holder to oppose something and not explaining his position.
The article lists 5 of 6 were approved – examples of people willing to spend money to better their communities.
Some people are smart enough to realize you get what you pay for.
This is well said. The same people who hate the way this city functions are the ones who hate paying taxes.
The people have spoken.
Beckwith has no jurisdiction or authority over Avon schools, his presence was only political and public exposure for himself. An unnecessary effort on his part.
Based on the financial breakdown listed, these new taxes also all sounded unnecessary!
It is interesting how the state politicians are becoming more and more ingrained in local politics. Beckwith can crawl buck under his pulpet and stay there. This also shows how unpopular this hypocrit really is with the populeous.
People are squeezed but, apparently, people are smart enough to make decisions that in their [voting] view provides a longer term benefit for their families (read: children). Education is fundamental, important, and critical for society. What is it that Beckwith?
