  1. “Noncompete agreements play an important role in health care because they are a standard business practice to protect an organization’s investment in time and training in its workforce.”

    Doctors get their training in medical school and residency, NOT from hospitals. It is patently absurd to claim that a hospital employer invests anything in their workers besides paying paychecks for work performed.

  2. I have a non-compete for my small business. It is not terribly restrictive…cannot work 5 miles from a location and cannot contact clients for a period of one year. My advertising dollars were used to bring those clients in, and I should be allowed to protect them.

  3. lol @ the Chamber of Commerce shill. No employee “reaches an agreement” with an employer on a non-compete. There’s no negotiation on it at all. If you don’t sign that, you don’t get the job. Most workers sign them because we like having a roof over our heads and food in our fridges.
