It saved me 10 minutes in a traffic tie-up the other day by offering a quick alternative. It was on screen, not voice, though.
Google Maps has had that feature for forever.
Nobody wants this.
I for one, would love to be able to ask Google to “find a barbecue restaurant on my route with a 4.5 rating or better”. Those are the kinds of things I do when I’m a passenger on a road trip and can’t ask for now.
You can already do that.
This is different, and will be fraught with hallucinations – even with the culled training set.
Google is using Gemini for everything to justify it & all the compute that it uses, which costs $$$$$. But it’s not being well-suited for most applications.
