  1. “Danny Meadows, a psychiatrist at the Logansport State Hospital, is the highest paid state employee, at nearly $400,000, followed by other state psychiatrists and neurologists.”

Typical Indiana … the transparency portal doesn’t include the folks paid for by the State who make very large sums of money in college athletics, or any of the money on college administration. Because you might find your mind blown by the amount of money spent on coaches and their staffs and how much is being spent by schools to keep up. So, personally, I don’t think it’s really fair to Danny Meadows to get his name drug through the mud.

IU just had to lend their athletic department to $34 million … so they could afford for Tom Allen to go away. Sure, they’ve got donors, but they’re also going to have to pay Mike Woodson $8 million to go away here soon…

Purdue I suspect is also struggling to handle the Ryan Walters buyout while paying Barry Odom to come in. (Whatever they’re paying Matt Painter is a steal.)

  2. Running a major state department is a huge responsibility. $275K is well worth it, if Gov. Braun gets the right people that have strong fiscal responsibility and are great leaders. I don’t know many strong business leaders that would do it for less.
