  1. 80% of school funding towards health insurance!?!? With over 65,500 teachers in Indiana it seems maybe the insurance companies could offer better group rates without reducing coverage!?!
    If just a 10% cut in healthcare costs there might be enough to make the salaries competitive, and even less spent on building and sports amenities.

  2. Eighty-percent of the teacher and administrator costs is $660 million spent on health insurance. While it is not state how much was paid out for health insurance claims, is it possible schools would be better off to self-insure?

  3. If Republicans would stop bashing the teaching profession , defunding public education . Maybe more people would consider entering and staying in professional teaching postilions.
