We regulate way too much in Indiana.
This question was studied by the Second Government Efficiency Commission – 2005/2006. The report should be available from LSA. I served as Co-Chairman of this second commission along with Jim Baker (now deceased).
Steve Baranyk – 317/844-1979
I get the impression that the headline is asking the wrong question. The real question is why do we have boards that have little or no visibility or transparency.
If the state would set up tools for these boards to report and publish, but here is sounds like there is no structure or tools. Once that’s in place then I think you MIGHT be able to ask “Are there too many boards” but with little or no data, you’re just shooting in the dark.
